Salāmun Salām
Salāmun Salām
Peace upon the Prophets of Allah
Salāmun Salām celebrates the Prophets of Allah and the single current of divine guidance that runs through sacred history.
From Ādam and Nūḥ to Ibrāhīm, Mūsā, ʿĪsā and the Final Messenger, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the animation follows a recurring light through some of the most memorable moments associated with the Prophets.
The same light then reaches ordinary human beings — entering prayer, character, compassion and service — reminding us that Prophetic guidance is not simply something to admire from the past. It is guidance intended to transform the way we live today.
Lyrics

English Translation
Callers to peace for the servants of Allah.
And Mūsā, the one who communed with God, spoke with the Divine Judge.
And ʿĪsā the Messiah, from a spirit bestowed by the Most Merciful.
And Ṭāhā, the Trustworthy — O Beloved of Allah.
They came raising the banner of truth.
They are the bearers of the noblest wisdom.
And those who labour in the way of Allah.
The Ever-Living, the All-Powerful, is the source of all giving.
The Guide, the Generous, is the helper of the weak.
He has given us so much, so all praise belongs to Allah.
The Meaning of Salāmun Salām
Salāmun Salām begins with an expression of peace and love towards the Prophets of Allah.
Salām carries meanings of peace, safety, wholeness and wellbeing. Repeating it — Salāmun salām — creates the sense of peace upon peace: an abundant greeting offered to the great family of Prophets.
The song does not begin with only one Prophet. It begins with:
The Prophets of Allah
This immediately opens the listener to the vast history of Prophethood.
Muslims believe in Ādam, Nūḥ, Ibrāhīm, Ismāʿīl, Isḥāq, Yaʿqūb, Yūsuf, Mūsā, Dāwūd, Sulaymān, Yūnus, Zakariyyā, Yaḥyā, ʿĪsā and all the other Prophets of Allah, culminating in the Final Messenger, Muhammad ﷺ.
Their circumstances were different. Their peoples were different. Their trials were different.
But their source was one, and their essential call was one: to guide humanity towards Allah.
The Chorus — Callers to Peace
Callers to peace for the servants of Allah
The Prophets do not call humanity towards themselves as objects of worship. They call people towards Allah.
They teach humanity how to know its Creator, how to worship Him, how to live with justice, how to respond to hardship and how to treat other people.
This is why the word duʿāt — callers — is so significant. A Prophet calls. He guides. He warns. He gives hope. He shows a way through darkness.
The peace to which the Prophets call is therefore far deeper than the absence of conflict. It is the peace that comes when the human being is brought back into a proper relationship with Allah, with oneself and with creation.
Ibrāhīm عليه السلام — The Blessing of Faith
Ibrāhīm عليه السلام is associated in the song with īmān — faith.
His life demonstrates that genuine faith is not passive. It is tested.
He stood against idolatry. He trusted Allah when worldly circumstances seemed impossible. He migrated. He obeyed. He helped raise the foundations of the Kaʿbah.
His life became a testimony to tawḥīd: that the heart ultimately belongs to Allah alone.
The lyric also describes faith as a niʿmah — a blessing.
If faith is one of Allah's greatest gifts to us, how carefully do we protect and nurture it?
Mūsā عليه السلام — Courage and Divine Help
Mūsā عليه السلام is honoured as al-Kalīm, the one to whom Allah spoke.
His story is also one of the greatest stories of courage in the Qur'an. He stood before Pharaoh. He carried responsibility despite his fears. He led his people towards freedom.
And when the sea stood before them and Pharaoh's forces approached from behind, Allah opened a path where no path appeared possible.
What appears impossible to us is never impossible for Allah.
ʿĪsā عليه السلام — Mercy and Miraculous Signs
ʿĪsā ibn Maryam عليه السلام occupies an honoured place within Islam.
The Qur'an calls him al-Masīḥ — the Messiah, and speaks of his miraculous birth and the extraordinary signs Allah granted him.
In the animation, his passage is characterised especially by gentleness, healing and mercy.
Jesus عليه السلام is one of our Prophets. Love and reverence for him form part of Muslim faith.
Ṭāhā — The Final Messenger ﷺ
Verse One reaches its culmination in Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
The lyric addresses him with love: al-Amīn — the Trustworthy, and Yā Ḥabība-llāh — O Beloved of Allah.
Here the song moves from description into affection.
For Aashiq Al Rasul, this is important. Knowing the Prophet ﷺ is not separated from loving him.
His life embodies mercy, trustworthiness, courage, forgiveness, worship, service and beautiful character.
And through him the Prophetic mission reaches its final and universal form.
The Mission of All the Messengers
They came to guide the nations
Humanity was not abandoned. Again and again, Allah sent guidance.
Some Messengers are named in the Qur'an. Others are not. Sacred history is therefore larger than the Prophetic stories whose names we know.
They raised the banner of truth
Truth is not something the Prophets concealed. They stood for it publicly, often in the face of enormous opposition.
Stand for truth even when truth is difficult.
They carried the noblest wisdom
From Ādam عليه السلام we learn repentance.
From Nūḥ عليه السلام we learn perseverance.
From Ibrāhīm عليه السلام we learn surrender and tawḥīd.
From Yūsuf عليه السلام we learn patience and forgiveness.
From Mūsā عليه السلام we learn courage.
From Yūnus عليه السلام we learn return to Allah.
From Ayyūb عليه السلام we learn endurance.
From Dāwūd and Sulaymān عليهما السلام we learn gratitude and responsible leadership.
From ʿĪsā عليه السلام we learn mercy and devotion.
And in Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Muslims find the final comprehensive Prophetic model.
They acted in the way of Allah
The Prophets did not merely speak.
They worshipped. They taught. They served. They endured. They protected. They sacrificed. They forgave. They helped people.
The lyric therefore moves naturally from wisdom to action.
The Prophetic Light
One of the defining visual ideas of the Salāmun Salām animation is the recurring Prophetic Light.
The same recognisable light appears throughout the journey.
It accompanies different Prophetic moments and travels through sacred history until the story reaches the Final Messenger, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
The light is not intended to portray a biological chain.
It symbolises the continuity and flow of Prophetic light, guidance and mission.
Different century.
Different people.
Yet the same divine source of guidance.
The animation allows this idea to be experienced visually rather than explained only through words.
Every time the light returns, we recognise: the Prophetic story continues.
Prophets and Signs Within the Animation
The animation extends beyond the Prophets explicitly named in the lyrics.
Ādam عليه السلام
The beginning of humanity and the beginning of the Prophetic story.
Nūḥ عليه السلام
The Ark, the flood and extraordinary perseverance in calling his people.
Ibrāhīm عليه السلام
The fire and complete trust in Allah.
Yūsuf عليه السلام
The darkness of the well followed by honour, responsibility and forgiveness.
Mūsā عليه السلام
The sea opening where no path appeared possible.
Yūnus عليه السلام
The depths of the ocean and the hope of returning to Allah even in profound darkness.
Dāwūd عليه السلام
Praise of Allah echoed through creation.
Sulaymān عليه السلام
Kingship, wisdom and the gifts Allah placed under his command.
ʿĪsā عليه السلام
Mercy, healing and miraculous signs by Allah's permission.
Muhammad ﷺ
The Prophetic journey reaches its final and universal mission,
represented through Makkah, Madinah and an immense spreading radiance.
The Prophets themselves are not physically depicted. Their stories are expressed through their signs, environments, events and the recurring light.
From Guidance to Character and Service
The animation does not leave Prophetic guidance in the distant past.
At an important point in the film, the light reaches ordinary people.
It passes through prayer. It touches hearts. And it produces action.
People begin helping one another. The vulnerable are supported. Others are welcomed. Needs are met. Service becomes visible.
Love for the Prophets should make us more truthful. More merciful. More generous. More courageous. More patient. More willing to serve.
Character becomes action.
The Final Verse — Returning to Allah
After celebrating the Prophets and their mission, the song turns directly towards the One who sent them.
Allah is al-Mujīb — the One who answers.
The Prophets taught humanity how to call upon Allah. Now the singer calls upon Him personally.
This brings sacred history into the life of every believer.
The Ever-Living, The All-Powerful
Allah is al-Ḥayy — the Ever-Living.
Allah is al-Qadīr — the All-Powerful.
And the lyric describes Him beautifully as the source of all giving.
Life is a gift.
Faith is a gift.
Guidance is a gift.
The Qur'an is a gift.
The Prophets are a gift.
The ability to remember Allah is itself a gift.
The Helper of the Weak
Allah is al-Hādī — the Guide.
Allah is al-Karīm — the Generous.
And He is described as the help of those who are weak.
The Prophetic stories repeatedly teach that human weakness does not mean divine abandonment.
Mūsā عليه السلام stood before an impossible sea. Yūnus عليه السلام called from darkness. Ayyūb عليه السلام endured suffering. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ experienced loss, rejection, boycott and migration.
Yet divine care remained.
Al-Ḥamdu Lillāh
The entire song ends in gratitude.
He has given us so much.
Therefore: al-ḥamdu lillāh.
This is the natural conclusion of the journey.
We begin by honouring the Prophets. We learn from their mission. We follow their guidance. And eventually everything returns to Allah.

Reflections from Salāmun Salām
-
One source, many Messengers.
Prophetic history is not a collection of unrelated stories. -
Faith is a gift.
Ibrāhīm عليه السلام reminds us to treasure and protect our īmān. -
Allah can create a path where we see none.
The story of Mūsā عليه السلام teaches trust beyond appearances. -
Never lose hope in returning to Allah.
Yūnus عليه السلام teaches us that even the deepest darkness is not beyond divine mercy. -
Wisdom should become action.
The Prophets carried knowledge and lived it. -
Guidance should improve character.
True love for the Prophets should make us more merciful, truthful and useful to others. -
Duʿā’ connects us directly to Allah.
The God of the Prophets remains near to His servants. -
Gratitude completes the journey.
Recognising Allah's gifts leads naturally to al-ḥamdu lillāh.
For Families and Educators
Salāmun Salām can be used as more than a song.
Children and young people can explore questions such as:
Which Prophet's story do you recognise in the animation?
What quality can we learn from that Prophet?
Why do Muslims believe in and honour so many Prophets?
What does the recurring light represent?
How does guidance move from belief into good character and service?
What blessings in your own life make you say al-ḥamdu lillāh?
The song therefore provides opportunities for learning about Prophethood, tawḥīd, Islamic history, Qur'anic stories, character, duʿā’, gratitude and service.
