Rooted in Sacred Tradition
At the heart of Aashiq Al Rasul is a repertoire centred upon remembrance, praise and love for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Over the years, AAR has developed a distinctive sound that respects traditional devotional forms while embracing thoughtful arrangements, ensemble singing and contemporary presentation.
Vocals remain at the centre of our sound, supported by percussion and arrangements designed to allow the words, melody and spiritual meaning of each piece to breathe.
Our repertoire includes original compositions alongside much-loved devotional works drawn from the rich traditions of the Muslim world.

Young performers are being given opportunities to develop confidence, musicianship, stagecraft and an understanding of the devotional repertoire that has shaped Aashiq Al Rasul.
By performing alongside experienced members of AAR, another generation is beginning to carry this tradition forward while developing its own voice.

We therefore work with organisers to understand the occasion, audience, venue and programme before agreeing the most appropriate performance format.
Depending upon the event, this may include selections from our multilingual repertoire, devotional classics, original compositions, audience participation and carefully chosen pieces suited to the atmosphere of the gathering.
