Aa’shiq Al-Rasul [English:- “Lovers of the Prophet (s)], performs a wide repertoire of faith inspired music, ranging from the classical style Qawali, contemporary nasheed, sung in Arabic, Urdu, English and Punjabi. The band’s vocalists perform with or without musical backing, utilizing multiple formats, from duff only, to percussion only, to full music as well as a capella. Consequently Aa’shiq al-Rasul has been acknowledged as the UK’s most versatile nasheed group. Fareeda, a fan, said about the band’s performance “it was very energetic, spiritual and touching for the soul”.

A live Aa’shiq al-Rasul performance of devotional music leaves the audience mesmerized by its share power and spiritual force. Audiences in UK, Germany, Sweden, Canada, USA, Caribbean, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia have shared this experience. Additionally listeners of its published albums [Divine Lights, The Chosen One, Lord of the Worlds, Blessed Mustafa, The Sultan of Madinah, Live in Concert Vol 1, Majesty, Acapella Vol 1 and The Essence of al-Mustafa] enjoy repetitive listening pleasure in their place of comfort. As Aisha says, “Your album Majesty brings me much joy. I hope to see you live someday, even if I have to fly half way around the world to do so.”

Amran Ellahi is the founder, creative force and lead singer of Aa’shiq al-Rasul. Kamran Ellahi is the meditative second lead vocal. Sheraz Yaqub, Tahir Khan, Tariq Aslam, Ihsan Haynes, Abdul Hameed and others contribute back up chorus and harmonies. Usman Malik versatility with percussion instruments gives the band its distinctive powerful rhythms. Occasionally further musical support is provided by Andy Mason and Harjit Singh.

Since it’s formation in 1998, Aa’shiq al-Rasul’s mission is to increase people's understanding of one another and to help build social bridges globally whilst working with all faiths and cultures by sharing a message of peace, love and hope using the means of contemporary, positive and reflective music. The many charitable causes and activities that Aa'shiq al-Rasul have supported over the past decade is manifest proof of its assistance to the downtrodden. Musituality, which seeks to promote harmony and understanding amongst people of all faiths and backgrounds by creating musical events featuring religious or spiritually inspired music to soothe the spirit and inspire the soul, is also evidence of Aa’shiq al-Rasul’s outreach initiatives.

Along the way Aa'shiq al-Rasul have performed with RAIHAN, Sabri Brothers, Sami Yusuf, Yusuf Islam, Zain Bhika, Muhammad Al-Husayan, Noor, Outlandish, 786, SHAAM, Khaleel Muhammad, Nazeel Azmi, Hamza Robertson, et al. Aa'shiq performed at Glastonbury as well.
